Kalachakra Six Yoga

The following content describes the practice to comprehend the psychic channels carrying the vital energies that consist of seed-essence; and the essence of the yoga is the skill in controlling the subtle energies. With the withdrawal of the vital energies to the central channel, the four levels of bliss are experienced at the four main charkas. And by saturation of the body-mind, enlightenment is achieved, and ultimately rainbow body is possible.

According to the Tibetan tradition, any tantra practice is physically and mentally dangerous and requires a skillful guide. It is necessary to receive authentic initiation before practice. The practitioner, who is interested in this practice but does not know the practice properly and does not have proper guidance, is suggested not to proceed with any of the contents provided here. Based on the prerequisite of the highest yoga tantra, it is indispensable for the student to follow a qualified guru’s instructions. The Six Phase Yoga of Completion Stage

vajra body (the first virtue - actualize empty form)

(1). Retraction (Attainment of Vajrasattva)

The objective of this yoga is to actualize the empty form so the aggregate and element of primordial wisdom and two sets of six phenomena can be purified.

When the energies vanish in the right and left channels and dissolve into the central channel, four Nighttime signs and six Daytime signs will rise in practitioner’s mind. Each represents the dissolution and flows of energies. The attention is focused at the upper aperture of the central channel.

(2). Concentration (Attainment of Aksobhya)

The objective of this yoga is to stabilize the empty form that has already been realized. This Concentration yoga will lead the practitioner to develop divine pride by identifying with that sambhogakaya. The attention is focused at the upper aperture of the central channel.

vajra speech (the second virtue - gain mastery over the energies)

(3). Vitality and Exertion - Pranayama (Attainment of Amoghasiddhi)

The objective of this yoga is to causes the energies to flow through the central channel by blocking the life force, or the vital energies, from flowing in the two side channels. The vajra recitation is used to with the breath technique so the energies descend from the head and the energies rise from the lower aperture of the central channel meet at the navel, and then they part again. These two energies are mixed with the appearance of the deity with consort. Eventually, the amount of vital energy that is expelled decreased, and more energy remains in the navel. The vase meditation occurs when energy remains entirely in the navel chakra, and at that point one’s external breath stops. When the mind has stabilized, the tummo fire blazes forth. As a result, the white bodhicitta at the crown of one’s head melts and descends to the level of the throat, and one experiences bliss, at the level of the heart, one experiences great bliss; at the level of the navel, there arises extraordinarily bliss; and at the tip of the vajra, innate bliss arise.

(4). Retention (Attainment of Ratnasambhava)

The objective of this yoga is to stabilize the flowing of the energies through the central channel so the feeling aggregate is purified. This practice gains the ability to bring forth the descending four blisses and the ascending four blisses. These four blisses will lead to a vivid vision of the empty form of Kalachakra with consort.

vajra mind (the third virtue - actualize vajra mind)

(5). Mindfulness (Attainment of Amitabha)

The objective of this yoga is to bring forth the pure vision of the empty form bodies of the father and mother deities in union.

When the authentic empty form of the deity with consort arises, innumerable rays of light are emanated from the pores of their bodies.

A person of sharp faculties can experience the various blisses by means of the preceding practices of focusing on the facsimile of empty form of the consort. This will allows the actual empty form of the father and mother deity to arise.

A person of medium faculties has to practice with a jnana mudra, who is visualized.

A person of dull faculties requires a karma mudra, an actual consort. The practitioner and the consort enter into union, and their energies are joined in the vast meditation. With the arising bliss from the melting of the bodhicitta, the authentic empty form arises.

By going into union with the consort of empty form, the first drop of fluid melts and comes down to the tip of the vajra. After experiences immutable bliss, the 21,600 drops are stacked from the tip of the jewel to the crown of the head. These 21,600 energies are purified, which means that they vanish. The 21,600 blisses are completed, the entire material constituent aspect is exhausted, and one manifestly attains the rainbow state of Kalachakra.

(6). Meditative stabilization - Samadhi (Attainment Vairochana)

The meditatative focal point is shifted from the navel chakra down to the genital region. There are total of 3600 drops stacked between the tip of the jewel to the base of the genital. The meditation on the first 1800 is called the ground of imaginary action. The final 1800 drops is called the liberated path.

With the stacking of the white bodhicitta from the tip of the jewel to the base of the genitals, there is an inverted stacking of the red bodhicitta from the crown of the head to the forehead.

In each of these phases one attains total of twelve grounds:

  1. 1,2 arya-bodhisattva grounds: Due to the stacking from the tip of the jewel to the base of the genitals. (3600 drops)
  2. 3,4 arya-bodhisattva grounds: Due to the stacking from the base of the genitals up to the navel chakra. (3600 drops)
  3. 5,6 arya-bodhisattva grounds: Due to the stacking from the navel chakra to the heart chakra. (3600 drops)
  4. 7,8 arya-bodhisattva grounds: Due to the stacking from the heart chakra to the throat chakra. (3600 drops)
  5. 9,10 arya-bodhisattva grounds: Due to the stacking from the throat chakra to the forehead chakra. (3600 drops)
  6. 11,12 arya-bodhisattva grounds: Due to the stacking from the forehead chakra to the crown of the head chakra. (3600 drops)

Five events occurs simultaneously:

1. The stacking of the first white drop.

2. The inverted stacking of the first red drop.

3. The experience of the first immutable bliss.

4. The cessation of the first of the 21,600 karmic energies.

5. The cessation of the first of the 21,600 material elements.

As the material elements are exhausted, the material constituents of the body vanish totally. One has now arisen in an empty form body, which is a primordial wisdom body.
